No matter how lengthy or quick it takes you to find a terrific job, every job seeker needs to stay motivated and inspired during this time.
I had the pleasure of working with a recent candidate, Collette who was seeking employment for almost one year. I built an excellent relationship with this candidate over a long period of time and I was thrilled when I recently placed her in an EMEA payroll position within a very reputable Multinational company. These type of companies have a very particular profile that they like to recruit and so were immediately interested in her CV once I applied her to the job.
One thing I noticed about this candidate was her true eagerness and commitment to find a suitable role and she really appreciated my assistant in her journey towards finding employment. Collette experienced many knocks in the market place and proves that even the best candidates struggle to find the right role. She always practiced ways to stay motivated and focused during job searching. She continuously pushed herself to stay motivated when job hunting. She wrote a short summary on her journey of finding employment which is most interesting
“Looking for work has been a rather interesting journey for me. It was a very time consuming process and it was often very difficult due to the many knocks that I had to take. Much of my time involved applying for jobs on the different job sites. However, one of the greatest challenges that I experienced was applying directly to different companies for jobs and not getting a response as well as Ireland being a ageist jobs market. There are so many job seekers in the marketplace at present who are extremely eager to secure employment. This has resulted in an extremely high volume of applicants to companies that may not be reviewed due to HR being swamped with work. After my recent job seeking experience, I now believe that having a contact within the company could lead to more success to ensure that one’s CV is read.
I recently received very exciting news and I secured a job with a large multinational company in Dublin. I am now only into my third week of this new job, but I feel that the job is very suitable to my skills/ experience and I believe I am a good fit for the company culture.
Previous to securing this role there were months where I had no interviews. What surprised me was the quick turnaround in securing interviews once I started working with Careers- Register and I was not on the market for long. I believe that with the right experience, the right attitude and the right agency to work with then you can be successful in securing a job in your chosen field even in this challenging jobs market”- Collette C. Recruiters and employers have an uncanny ability to sniff out job seekers lacking motivation. If a job seeker cannot stay motivated during the job seeking process, believe me, a recruiter is going to know about it.
