Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is an airport management company. It's principal activities include the development, operation and management of Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports, Irish and international retail management and international airport investment.
Together, the company's Irish airports handled in excess of 26 million passengers or some 90% of Ireland's international air traffic in 2009. DAA is now seeking to recruit two senior management roles which are critical to driving the business forward. HEAD OF LEGAL SERVICES
In an appointment that will support the continued development of DAA, applications are open for Head of Legal Services. Working closely with the Head of Litigation you will hold responsibility for implementing the highest international standards in the organisation's legal dealings. A proven track record in the area of Corporate and Commercial law is essential. You will provide an effective and efficient Legal service to DAA while managing internal and external legal resources.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Ensuring the board and management have sound, timely and appropriate legal advice on which to base decisions;
• Managing the provision of high quality, cost effective legal services across all DAA business units;
• Influencing the way business decisions are made by promoting a culture of decisions based around fully informed legal implications of proposed courses of action;
• Taking accountability for the performance of the legal team and external service providers while ensuring value for money at all times;
• Providing advice on contractual and governance arrangements, including appropriate legal advice.
This Head of Legal Services role presents a career defining opportunity for a Qualified Solicitor/Barrister with at least 5-8 years experience in a senior role. Our ideal candidate will have trained with a well established large/medium sized law firm and will ideally have some corporate experience. Strong knowledge of commercial law and litigation processes will be key as will your proven ability to manage and develop a professional team.
